The Friends

In April 2015, The Friends of the Boudinot-Southard-Ross Estate entered into an agreement with the Somerset County Parks Commission, permitting the charitable organization to conduct historical and cultural events on the property. We set out to enhance the public understanding of the lives of Elias Boudinot, Samuel Southard, and Edmund Ross, and their families, and other residents of the property. We hope to develop and produce public events utilizing the site’s landscape, buildings, and historical legacy, and plan to create a repository and research center for local genealogical and oral history resources.

We are pleased to continue opening the home and grounds during Somerset County’s History Weekend each fall, and are proud to host a “Rock the Barn” concert for township youth and friends, and the ArtSEE Happening, both in May 2015, while we have also broken ground on a vegetable garden! Upcoming will be a summer outdoor movie night and a fall fundraiser.

We look forward to creating relationships with groups and individuals to bring this estate to life in the present.

We value volunteer groups and enjoy working with youth who are seeking a fun, meaningful way to earn service hours. The Friends of the Boudinot-Southard-Ross Estate is a 501c3 charitable organization and we are grateful for monetary donations! If you would like to volunteer with us, or have any questions, please email info@rossfarm.org. Thank you!
